This decision shows the team's leadership's trust in the strategist born in 1981 after a successful promotion journey in the First Division.
The Southeast region team highly appreciates the role of coach Nguyen Viet Thang in building the playing style, fighting spirit as well as identity for the whole team. The club's leadership believes that this coach not only creates a professional mark but also transmits motivation and spirit to overcome difficulties for the players throughout the season.
After winning the right to participate in the V.League, Truong Tuoi Dong Nai aims to build a team capable of competing in the highest playground of Vietnamese football. The team expects coach Nguyen Viet Thang to continue to promote professional capacity to help the club maintain stability and long-term development.
This is also the first time coach Nguyen Viet Thang has taken on the role of head coach in the V.League. Previously, he participated in youth training at PVF, worked as an assistant at Da Nang club and led Can Tho club in the First Division.
Before moving to Truong Tuoi Dong Nai, coach Nguyen Viet Thang once helped Ninh Binh club win the First Division championship with an unbeaten record. However, the two sides then reached an agreement to terminate the contract when the season ended. The ancient capital team then appointed Spanish coach Gerard Albadalejo as captain.
Continuing to stick with coach Nguyen Viet Thang shows the ambition of Truong Tuoi Dong Nai in their return to the V.League. The team is expected to have more investment in force to aim for relegation and make a mark in the new season.
