This is the first time in more than 5 years that Vietnamese young men's volleyball has returned to the Asian playground. Therefore, the team's goal in this tournament is to try to pass the group stage with the highest results.
In this tournament, coach Hoang Van Phuong brought a squad of 12 players to Indonesia, including Nguyen Huu Trinh, Pham Xuan Sinh, Truong Cong Nguyen, Le Anh Dung, Tran Manh Hung, Trinh Ngoc Dat, Duong Duc Hai , Dang Nguyen Xuan Hop, Tang Ngoc Hieu, Ly Dinh Quy, Nguyen Van Thanh and Dinh Van Tri.
Vietnam's young players are in Group D with U20 Korea, U20 Thailand and U20 Kazakhstan. The first challenge of the U20 Vietnam men's volleyball team is U20 Korea.
This is a difficult challenge for Mr. Hoang Van Phuong and his team, when the opponent is the team with the most developed volleyball background on the continent.
