Thanh Hoa - The Ma River floodwaters are rising rapidly. On the morning of September 23, Thanh Hoa City issued a warning and organized emergency evacuation.

Faced with the rising floodwaters on the Ma River, on the morning of September 23, the Chairman of the Thanh Hoa City People's Committee issued a telegram to respond to the flood and organize the evacuation of people from areas at risk of deep flooding.

Accordingly, the Chairman of the People's Committee of Thanh Hoa City requested the Chairman of the People's Committee of wards and communes with dikes, Heads of departments, offices, and units of the city to urgently organize forces to implement the evacuation plan according to the alert level above alert level II.

Organize the relocation of all elderly, single, and sick households that are unable to move themselves into the dike, to be completed before 8:00 a.m. on September 23, 2024.

Organize mobile militia forces to be on duty at dike guard posts, regularly patrol and guard the dikes to promptly detect and handle dike incidents at the first hour.

The Chairman of the People's Committee of Thanh Hoa City requested members of the Command Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention, Search and Rescue and Civil Defense of the city to go to the assigned areas to organize guidance and direction for wards and communes to deploy and operate approved plans and scenarios, and take full responsibility before the Chairman of the People's Committee of the city; activate 100% of the unit's current military force to prepare for duty and support wards and communes when situations arise...

At the same time, from early morning on September 23, people in some wards and communes outside the dike in Thanh Hoa city such as Nam Ngan, Thieu Duong, Thieu Khanh organized evacuation to higher places to ensure their lives and property.
