This is a reward for the historic championship that coach Federico Rampazzo and his team won in Indonesia. Previously, the Vietnamese team made a big impression when they defeated host Indonesia 3-1 in the semi-finals. Immediately after this victory, VFV also announced a bonus of 300 million VND to encourage the spirit of the athletes and coaching staff.
Thus, the total bonus amount that the Vietnamese men's volleyball team received from the Vietnam Volleyball Federation after the journey at stage 2 of SEA V.Cup 2026 is 800 million VND.
At this year's tournament, the Vietnamese team started with a 2-3 defeat to Thailand in the group stage. However, the team quickly regained balance when they beat Myanmar 3-0 to win the right to enter the semi-finals with the second place in the group.
The turning point came in the semi-finals when Ngoc Thuan and his teammates defeated Indonesia 3-1 right on the opponent's field.
In the final, the Vietnamese team once again met Thailand. After the defeat in the group stage, coach Federico Rampazzo's team played bravely to win 3-2, thereby winning the SEA V.Cup stage for the first time.
Not only winning the championship cup, Vietnamese men's volleyball also has 3 individual titles. Ngoc Thuan was voted the Best Main Scorer and Player of the Tournament (MVP), while Duy Tuyen received the Best Middle Scorer title.
The whole team returned to Vietnam after completing their journey in Indonesia. The championship and bonus are considered a worthy recognition of the efforts of the coaching staff and athletes, and at the same time create more motivation for the team to aim for bigger goals in the future.
