On the afternoon of December 14, the Vietnam women's futsal team defeated the Myanmar women's futsal team with a score of 4-2 in the second match of Group B, thereby officially winning a ticket to the semi-finals of the 33rd SEA Games with the top spot in the group after two wins.
Entering the match, Vietnamese women's futsal proactively pushed up the formation and soon imposed the game. However, Myanmar was the team that unexpectedly opened the scoring in the 10th minute after Ei El Kyaw's cross-angle shot.
The loss caused many difficulties for coach Nguyen Dinh Hoang's students, especially when Myanmar goalkeeper Chaw Sandi Aung played excellently, continuously blocking Vietnam's opportunities.
It was not until the 17th minute that the Vietnamese women's futsal equalized 1-1 on the free kick after the opponent committed a sixth foul. In the second half, Myanmar pushed up their formation and equalized 2-2 in the 27th minute. However, their bravery and experience helped Vietnamese women's futsal regain control of the game. After the match, the Standing Committee of the Executive Committee of the Vietnam Football Federation sent congratulations to the entire team, and at the same time decided to give a bonus of 300 million VND for the semi-final achievement, recognizing the efforts and competitive spirit of coach Nguyen Dinh Hoang and his team.
