After a convincing victory over Indonesia in the opening match, the Vietnam women's futsal team entered the second match of Group B of the 33rd SEA Games with the goal of winning all 3 points against Myanmar, thereby earning a ticket to the semi-finals.
In the opening match, coach Nguyen Dinh Hoang and his team had an impressive performance when defeating Indonesia with a score of 3-1. Although the first half was balanced, the solidity of goalkeeper Hai Yen helped the Vietnamese team keep a clean sheet. In the second half, the Vietnamese women's futsal controlled the game well and scored three goals thanks to Thuy Trang, Thanh Ngan and Phuong Anh.
This victory helped the Vietnamese women's futsal temporarily take the lead in Group B, taking a big advantage in the race to the semi-finals. If they continue to overcome Myanmar, the Vietnamese team is likely to complete the group stage early with the top spot.
Meanwhile, Myanmar showed many limitations in terms of playing organization as well as defensive ability. With the current strength and form, this representative is considered unlikely to create a surprise against Vietnam.
Before this match, the Vietnam women's futsal team also received timely spiritual encouragement. Deputy Director of the Vietnam Department of Physical Training and Sports, Head of the Vietnam Sports Delegation at the 33rd SEA Games Nguyen Hong Minh visited and encouraged the Vietnam women's futsal team. At the meeting, the Head of the delegation acknowledged and praised the team's fighting spirit and determination after the victory over Indonesia, and highly appreciated the serious preparation, the solidarity in the team and the fighting spirit of the players.
Mr. Nguyen Hong Minh suggested that the coaching staff and athletes continue to maintain their focus, promote the strengths they have shown, and proactively adjust their expertise to aim for the best results in the next matches.
