Compared to the initial concentration force, there are 5 players not included in the final list including goalkeeper Luu Thanh Bao and ala Nguyen Tien Hung, Nguyen Hoang Quan, An Lam Toi and Ngo Ngoc Son.
The selected list shows that the coaching staff places their trust in experienced players with stable professional skills and have been proven through many international tournaments. This is considered an important factor for the Vietnamese futsal team to compete in the continental arena, where top Asian teams gather.

Previously, the Vietnamese futsal team gathered from January 2nd at the Chanh Hung ward futsal Gymnasium (HCMC). In the process of preparation, coach Diego Giustozzi's team had two internal friendly matches with the Afghanistan futsal team on January 19th and 21st. These matches played an important role in reviewing the force, perfecting the playing style as well as testing tactical options before the official tournament.
Assessing the training phase, coach Diego Giustozzi said that when playing against opponents in Southeast Asia, the physical and technical level between the teams is quite similar. However, in the Asian arena, many opponents possess superior physical foundation and higher professional quality, requiring the Vietnamese futsal team to improve to be able to compete effectively. The two matches with Afghanistan have brought many important data, helping the coaching staff to better define the professional preparation process.
According to the plan, the Vietnamese futsal team will depart for Indonesia on the morning of January 24 to participate in the 2026 Asian Futsal Championship Finals. At this tournament, the team is in Group B with strong opponents including defending runner-up Thailand, Kuwait and Lebanon.
