According to the ranking just announced by FIFA on April 21, the Vietnamese women's team ranks 37th in the world with 1,593.71 points.

The ranking of the Vietnamese women's team is determined based on the results of competition in the recent period, including the campaign at SEA Games 33 (December 2025) and the 2026 Asian finals taking place in March 2026. Although down 1 place compared to the previous ranking, the Vietnamese women's team still holds the No. 1 position in Southeast Asia.

At the continental level, the Vietnamese women's team ranks 6th in Asia, after strong teams including Japan (5th in the world), DPRK (11), Australia (15), China (16) and South Korea (19). The Vietnamese women's team continues to rank above Southeast Asian representatives such as the Philippines (39), Thailand (50) as well as some teams in the region such as Myanmar, Malaysia, Indonesia, Laos, Cambodia, Singapore and Timor-Leste.

In the world rankings, Spain and the United States continue to hold the top two positions. England rose to 3rd place, while Germany dropped to 4th place. Japan closed the top 5. The remaining positions in the top 10 belonged to Brazil, France, Sweden, Canada and the Netherlands respectively.

Currently, the rankings of women's national teams are applied with a real-time update mechanism, similar to the rankings of men's national teams. Accordingly, the scores and rankings of teams can change during the FIFA Days or FIFA Series matches, before being officially confirmed after the competition period ends.

According to the plan, the next FIFA ranking update is expected to be announced on June 16, 2026. With the current position, the Vietnamese women's team continues to maintain its competitive advantage in Southeast Asia, while maintaining a favorable foundation for important goals in the coming time.
