On the afternoon of January 20, the Vietnamese women's team continued the training session at the Vietnam Youth Football Training Center, within the framework of the training camp to prepare for the final round of the 2026 Asian Women's Football Championship. This is the second training week of the whole team since the gathering day, with the focus placed on improving physical foundations in parallel with perfecting professional aspects.
In Hanoi's quite favorable weather conditions, the coaching staff maintained appropriate training intensity, focusing on improving the endurance and load-bearing capacity of the players. Interspersed with that were technical and tactical exercises to help the whole team maintain the feeling of the ball, increase cohesion and maintain the operating rhythm of the playing style.

Sharing before the training session, midfielder Thai Thi Thao emphasized the particularly strict fitness requirements at the continental arena. She said: "The Asian finals require very high fitness and the whole team is preparing seriously. The fitness targets set by the coaching staff, the whole team is meeting well and continuing to try to improve further. The current weather is also quite favorable, helping the players maintain a stable training schedule.
According to Thai Thi Thao, the 2026 Asian Championship round gathers the 12 strongest teams in the region. The group of the Vietnamese women's team alone has the presence of highly qualified opponents, of which Japan is noteworthy - a team that is always in the top group in Asia and the world. The remaining two opponents also showed many advances in the past time, forcing the Vietnamese women's team to prepare carefully both physically and tactically if they want to compete for positive results.
From the perspective of young players, midfielder Tran Nhat Lan said that the coaching staff is prioritizing physical training in this period. “After playing in domestic leagues, training sessions help us improve our physical condition and regain the feeling of the ball,” Nhat Lan shared.


This is the fourth time the midfielder born in 2004 has been called up to the national women's team. She expressed more confidence than previous training sessions: "I am trying to train really well to be able to compete for positions and hope to be named in the official list to participate in upcoming tournaments.
With methodical preparation and high concentration, the Vietnamese women's team is gradually completing to move towards the 2026 Asian finals - a tournament predicted to bring many major challenges in terms of fitness and expertise.
