Badminton player Nguyen Thuy Linh has dropped in the BWF world rankings ahead of the 33rd SEA Games.

Nguyen Thuy Linh dropped 1 place on the latest announced rankings on November 25. The Vietnamese tennis player is currently ranked 22nd in the world.

It is almost certain that Thuy Linh will not be able to increase her rank from now until before participating in the 33rd SEA Games, because she has completed her international competitions.

In the current top 10 women's singles in the world, Thai badminton has 2 faces: Pornpawee Chochuwong (number 6) and Ratchanok Intanon (number 8).

The coaching staff of the Thai Badminton Team has not officially announced the list of players participating in the 33rd SEA Games, so experts are not sure whether these two players will compete or not.

According to professional preparation, Nguyen Thuy Linh is expected to participate in the women's singles and women's team event at the 33rd SEA Games. Currently, this player is actively preparing professionally with the Vietnam Badminton Team in Bac Ninh. Thuy Linh just participated in the 2025 Australian Open badminton tournament but lost her first match and was eliminated.

The Vietnamese badminton team is not training abroad at the present time but is focusing on professional training in Bac Ninh to prepare for the 33rd SEA Games.

This year, Thuy Linh has competed in 2 important tournaments before participating in the 33rd SEA Games, which are the Asian champion and the World champion. However, she did not win any medals in the above tournaments.
