The "hot" bonuses from the Sports Federation are also being expected by athletes to be paid as promised.
Steps to expect the new regime to be issued soon
The Vietnamese sports delegation completed the 33rd SEA Games with 87 Gold Medals, 81 Silver Medals and 110 Bronze Medals. However, because the policy regulation replacing Decree 152/2018/ND-CP has not been issued, coaches and athletes of the Vietnam Sports Delegation at the 33rd SEA Games will still receive bonuses according to the current regulations of Decree 152/2018/ND-CP.
Accordingly, the State's reward for 1 SEA Games Gold Medal is 45 million VND, 1 Silver Medal will receive 25 million VND and 1 Bronze Medal will receive 20 million VND. Each SEA Games record will receive 20 million VND. The accounting and finance department of the Vietnam Department of Physical Education and Sports has compiled statistics on the performance according to the prescribed bonus level to report to the management level.
Before the 33rd SEA Games, members of the Vietnam Sports Delegation expected to have the opportunity to enjoy the new regime as proposed by the sports industry (expected to reward achievements of 60 million VND, 30 million VND and 25 million VND corresponding to each Gold Medal, Silver Medal and Bronze Medal; the SEA Games record will be awarded 25 million VND). However, the regulation is still a regulation. The new bonus levels will only be applied when the official management document is issued.
Mr. Nguyen Hong Minh - Head of the Vietnam Sports delegation - said that the results of the delegation will be reported to the leaders and hoped that the new policy for coaches and athletes will soon be approved.
"Hot" bonuses must be standard
According to Lao Dong's research, many sports federations and associations of many sports have had medalists at the 33rd SEA Games begin to summarize and conduct "hot" awards and prizes as announced before competing in Thailand.
Among these, the Vietnam U22 men's football team has received a bonus of more than 3 billion VND from benefactors and the Vietnam Football Federation, while the Vietnam Women's Football Team has received a significant bonus. The reward levels for each Sports Federation and Association in many sports are diverse and above all focus on achievements to encourage the spirit of coaches and athletes. Notably, the "hot" bonus of the Vietnam Sports Delegation is being expected by athletes to be paid as promised. Before the Vietnam Sports Delegation attended the congress, the "hot" bonuses were shared as 10 million VND, 5 million VND and 3 million VND corresponding to each Gold Medal, Silver Medal and Bronze Medal. The "hot" bonus is said to be transferred to the player with the achievement as soon as he returns home.
The "hot" bonus is considered a secondary advantage and is committed to both between the Olympic Committee's accompanying unit and the Vietnam Sports Delegation. However, athletes are the ones who have held the board to receive the money before the media and when achieving the 33rd SEA Games results, their rights must be guaranteed most accurately.
