According to the ranking announced by FIFA on November 19, the Vietnam team increased by 3 places to 111th in the world. This result was achieved thanks to the fact that coach Kim Sang-sik's team had 2 victories in October 2025, when they defeated the Ne team in 2 matches with scores of 3-1 and 1-0 respectively.
These two victories helped the Vietnam team gain an additional 13.7 points and have a total accumulated score of 1,183.62 points.
Vietnam is still second in Southeast Asia, after Thailand. The team nicknamed "War Elephants" increased 5 places to 96th in the world, thanks to two convincing victories against Taiwan (China) in October.
Malaysia, the opponent in the same group as Vietnam in the 2027 Asian Cup qualifiers, also increased 5 places to 118th in the world. Meanwhile, Indonesia dropped 3 places to 122nd place when they lost to Saudi Arabia and Iraq in October 2025, in the 4th qualifying round of the 2026 World Cup in Asia.

In Asia, Japan and Iran are ranked No. 1 and No. 2 respectively on the continent. Their positions on the world rankings are 19th and 21st respectively, unchanged from last month. The remaining teams in the Top 10 in Asia are South Korea, Australia, Qatar, Uzbekistan, Iraq, Saudi Arabia, Jordan and the UAE.
In the world, the top 10 teams include: Spain, Argentina, France, England, Portugal, Netherlands, Brazil, Belgium, Italy and Germany.
FIFA also released some other notable statistics, such as the team with the strongest increase in ranking being Niger (9 places), the most accumulated being Faroe Islands (37.95 points), the most decreased being Greece (8 places) and the most deducted being Sweden (27.63 points).
