From the first minutes, U22 Vietnam showed their proactiveness in deploying the playing style. In the 9th minute, midfielder Khuat Van Khang opened the scoring with a beautiful free kick outside the penalty area. However, just 5 minutes later, the away team equalized, creating a balanced game in the remainder of the first half.
In the second half, U22 Vietnam continued to maintain the pressure and in the 55th minute, striker Nguyen Quoc Viet scored, sealing a 2-1 victory for the home team. In this match, coach Kim Sang-sik took full advantage of opportunities for testing and evaluating personnel.
Previously, in the first practice match between the two teams on July 2, U22 Vietnam showed their superior strength with a 5-0 victory. The goals were scored by Phi Hoang, Van Truong, Quoc Viet, Van Thuan and Viktor Le.
According to the plan, U22 Vietnam will continue to practice in Ba Ria until July 13, before moving to Indonesia on the morning of July 14 to participate in the 2025 U23 Southeast Asian Championship.
The two practice matches against U22 Taiwan (China) are an important rehearsal step to help coach Kim Sang-sik and the coaching staff review, evaluate the force and shape the main framework for the journey to defend the U23 Southeast Asian championship.
