At the 33rd SEA Games held in Thailand, in the iron ball event, athlete Nguyen Van Dung had an impressive performance in the final against opponent Indonesia - Stria Topan to win the first gold medal in his career.
The above achievement is not only meaningful to the 51-year-old athlete herself, but also helps the Vietnamese iron ball complete the target set on the first day of competition of the sport.
With the gold medal, male athlete Nguyen Van Dung completed his personal goal when he won all the medals at the SEA Games. Previously, he participated in 6 Southeast Asian Games, winning 2 silver medals and 4 bronze medals.
Talking about the achievements, the 33rd SEA Games champion said: Although I have attended the Games 7 times, this is the first time I have won a gold medal. I am really happy and feel proud.
After winning the gold medal, Mr. Nguyen Van Dung was interviewed by reporters. In front of the camera camera camera, the 51-year-old male athlete appeared quite shy and somewhat confused because he was not used to appearing in the media.

"I happened to meet someone and was invited to try it. Seeing that I can play, people immediately 'arrest' me. I started playing around the age of 33, and my passion for this sport has not stopped. I will play until I can't play anymore," the Vietnamese player shared.
Despite his getting older age, athlete Nguyen Van Dung has never thought about stopping. Every training session, he is still passionate, new to the technique, completes each throwing move and learn more tactics. His endurance is also shown in the years of strength, balance, and throwing sensation.
He said that when Vietnamese sports need him, he is always ready to leave even though he has become a grandfather. The spirit and tireless efforts helped athlete Nguyen Van Dung win the first gold medal at the SEA Games - a memorable milestone in his career.
