On December 30, 2025, Deputy Prime Minister Mai Van Chinh signed and promulgated Decree No. 349/2025/ND-CP on Regulations on regimes and policies for sports team members participating in centralized training and competition.
Accordingly, this Decree has adjusted the salary and wages for training and competition of coaches and athletes.
Head coach of the national team is entitled to 1,100,000 VND/person/day; head coach of the national team 750,000 VND/person/day; head coach of the national youth team 750,000 VND/person/day; head coach of the national youth team 550,000 VND/person/day.
Meanwhile, coaches of industry teams, provinces, and centrally-run cities receive 430,000 VND/person/day; coaches of youth teams and talent teams of industries, provinces, and cities receive 360,000 VND/person/day.
For athletes, the proposed payment level per training and competition day includes: athletes of the national team 550,000 VND/person/day; athletes of the national youth team 430,000 VND/person/day; athletes of industry, province, and centrally-run city teams 360,000 VND/person/day.
In addition, athletes of youth teams of industries, provinces, and cities receive 150,000 VND/person/day and athletes of talented teams receive 110,000 VND/person/day.
Also according to the new Decree, the nutrition regime of coaches and athletes at national team levels is proposed to be increased: National team is 400,000 VND/person/day; National youth team is 400,000 VND/person/day; industry team, province, city directly under the central government is 300,000 VND/day; industry team, province, city directly under the central government is 250,000 VND/day; talent team of industry, province, city directly under the central government is 190,000 VND/day.
The new Decree also mentions other specific spending levels for coaches and athletes who are called up to national sports teams preparing to participate in SEA Games, ASIAD, Asian Para Games, Paralympic Games to enjoy a nutritional regime of 600,000 VND/person/day for a period not exceeding 90 days.
In particular, coaches and athletes who are called up to national sports teams capable of winning gold medals at ASIAD, winning gold medals at Youth Olympic Games, capable of meeting the standards to participate in the Olympics, and coaches and athletes who meet the standards to participate in the Paralympic Games are entitled to a nutritional regime of 800,000 VND/person/day.
Regarding the special regime, athletes who achieve excellent results are entitled to monthly allowances according to the following specific levels: Olympic Games medal is 40,000,000 VND/person/month; Olympic Games silver medal is 30,000,000 VND/person/month; Olympic Games bronze medal - ASIAD gold medal - Paralympic Games gold medal is 20,000,000 VND/person/month; Paralympic Games silver medal is 15,000,000 VND/person/month; Passing the qualifying round to participate in the Olympic Games, Paralympic Games bronze medal is 10,000,000 VND/person/month.
Accordingly, the benefit period is 4 years from the time of achieving achievements at the Congress to the next Congress.
This Decree takes effect from February 15, 2026.
