After about 2 years of absence from the Vietnamese women's volleyball team, opposite Nguyen Thi Bich Tuyen marked an impressive return in 2024.
In the context that main striker Tran Thi Thanh Thuy is not in the best physical condition, Bich Tuyen is the leader of the team in coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet's squad.
She participated in all 5 international tournaments with the national women's team and achieved many impressive achievements such as winning the AVC Challenge Cup, 3rd place in the FIVB Challenger Cup, 2nd place in the SEA V.League, 5th place in the Future Stars (friendly) and 2nd place in the VTV Cup.
Bich Tuyen is highly appreciated by experts for her performance. The individual titles that the 2000-born setter has achieved also prove this. In the Vietnamese women's volleyball team, Bich Tuyen received titles such as "All-round player", "Best setter" of the AVC Challenge Cup, the player with the most points of the FIVB Challenge Cup (77 points), "Best setter" of the first stage of the SEA V.League, "Best setter" of the VTV Cup.
Talking to Lao Dong, Bich Tuyen shared: "Returning to the team this year, I am very happy and emotional. Being able to participate in tournaments with my teammates, I am very honored and proud.
In 2024, I feel that I have matured in terms of mentality and competition skills. I have a more stable competitive mentality and a more confident fighting mentality when participating in such big tournaments. I have more courage to face opponents of higher class and technique, especially teams with good physique.
This is a happy year for me, I am happy with the titles the team has achieved. I think it is time for me to be more confident to express myself."
Closing the 2024 season, Bich Tuyen left an impression on Vietnamese volleyball fans. She became more famous and appeared in the media more often.
This opponent affirmed that he himself had a big change in thinking and psychology, especially in his attitude when facing opposing opinions and attacks outside of his expertise.
"In the past, with conflicting opinions, sometimes I thought a lot. There was a time when I thought too much and it affected my psychology. But actually, I know there are still many people who love me.
There are audiences who love me and there are also people who say bad things about me. I think I should overcome those things to train my will and become more confident. I have to try hard for those who always encourage and comfort me. I have to contribute and serve the team.
The attacks on me were not too severe, I overcame them because the most important thing was that I was still given the opportunity to contribute. I know I should focus on those good things.
I have been passionate about sports since I was in primary school. Later in secondary school, I got into volleyball and loved sports even more. I hope to pursue a career in it. That is a greater motivation than anything else," Bich Tuyen expressed.
Closing the 2024 season, setter Nguyen Thi Bich Tuyen said that she and her teammates on the national team tried their best to achieve achievements this year, especially winning tickets to the 2025 World Championship.
The hitter currently playing for LPB Ninh Binh team affirmed that she really hopes to continue contributing to the Vietnam women's volleyball team in the future.
