On the evening of December 26, the Department of Physical Education and Sports announced the results of the election of outstanding national athletes, coaches, and sports teams in 2024.
Accordingly, leading the list of "National Outstanding Athletes" is Trinh Thu Vinh (shooting). The female shooter born in 2000 has a total score of 1,286, creating a large gap with the second place athlete Tran Quyet Chien (billiards) - 849 points.
Ranked 3rd on the list is player Nguyen Thi Bich Tuyen (volleyball) with 696 points. Ranked 4th and 5th are Nguyen Thi Huong (canoeing) - 582 points and Pham Thi Hue (rowing) - 528 points respectively.
The remaining 5 athletes were honored by Nguyen Thuy Linh (Badminton) - 459 points; Nguyen Thi Tru (bicycle) - 416 points; Ha Thi Linh (Boxing) - 351 points;
Meanwhile, with the impressive achievements of the Vietnamese women's volleyball team in 2024 (world bronze medal, Asian gold medal...), coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet leads the list of votes for "National Outstanding Coach 2024" (482 points).
Four other coaches were also honored: Nguyen Viet Hoa (billiards), Nguyen Dinh Hoang (women's futsal), Luu Van Hoan (canoeing) and Tran Quoc Cuong (shooting).
The Top 5 "Disabled Athletes" honored in order are Le Van Cong (weightlifting), Chau Hoang Tuyet Loan (weightlifting), Le Tien Dat (swimming), Do Thanh Hai (swimming) and Doan Thu Huyen (chess).
In addition, the 3 "Outstanding Disabled Sports Coaches" in 2024 are Le Quang Thai (weightlifting), Nguyen Dang Vien (swimming) and Bui Quang Vu (chess).
Finally, the "Outstanding Sports Team" category belongs to the Vietnam women's volleyball team, the Vietnam women's futsal team and the women's 4x400m relay track and field team.
