Not only the UEFA Champions League (UCL) final, the UEFA Europa League (UEL) final was also broadcast by BT Sport for free. The audience can follow via BT Sport Showcase, website BTSport.com, BT Sport App as well as on YouTube.
Viewers can also enjoy the UCL final via 360° virtual reality technology on the BT Sport App application, allowing them to choose the screen perspective when watching commentary and graphics programs. However, Vietnamese investors will not have the opportunity to experience these interesting technologies.
Mr. John Petter, CEO of customers of BT Sport said: Showing the UCL and UEL finals for free to all audiences in the UK and Northern Ireland shows that BT Sport wants to bring this event to the public.
These are two of the biggest club-level tournaments in the world. Playing matches on social networking channels and mobile devices brings easy enjoyment opportunities to young audiences as well as traditional TV viewers.
However, sadly, BT Sport only distributes for free to audiences in countries that are part of the British Union and Northern Ireland, while in Vietnam, audiences cannot watch live.
Vietnamese audiences will not be able to watch these two tournaments from the second leg of the semi-finals on television after VTVcab stopped broadcasting UCL and UEL on VTVcab and VTV's television services in Vietnam due to copyright infringement issues. This is the second consecutive year that the Vietnamese NHM has not been able to watch the top match in the Champions League.
Real Madrid will face Juventus in the UCL final at 1:45 a.m. on June 4, Vietnam time at the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff, Wales. Meanwhile, the UEL final between Man United and Ajax Amsterdam will take place at 1:45 a.m. on May 25 at Friends Arena Stadium in Stockholm, Sweden.
