On August 26, Vietnam Professional Football Joint Stock Company (VPF) announced that the match between The Cong Viettel and Becamex HCMC in round 3 of V.League 2025-2026 will be postponed to 7:15 p.m. on August 30 at Hang Day Stadium, 1 day later than the original schedule.
The reason for the change comes from The Cong Viettel's proposal. According to the local plan, many routes in Hanoi will be limited to serve the rehearsal of the parade and parade to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day on September 2 (A80). Other matches of round 3 are still taking place according to the schedule, but can be adjusted if the weather is affected by storms.
The postponement of the schedule does not affect the tournament's progress, but it has forced some national and U23 players to gather later. Because after round 3, the two teams will start gathering to prepare for a series of important tasks in September.
In this training session, The Cong Viettel contributed 6 faces including Van Viet, Tien Anh, Tuan Tai to the national team and Cong Phuong, Van Khang, Tuan Phong to U23 Vietnam. On Becamex HCMC's side, Minh Khoa is the only player called up.
According to the plan, U23 Vietnam will only have about 4 days of training before entering the 2026 U23 Asian qualifiers. Meanwhile, the Vietnam team will play a domestic friendly match to review the force, preparing for the 2027 Asian Cup qualifiers starting in October.
