VTV Binh Dien Long An team is not registered to compete in the AVC Champions League 2026 tournament to be held in Korea from April 26 to April 30.
On March 20, the Asian Volleyball Confederation - AVC will organize a draw for the match-ups at the tournament. The tournament only has 8 teams participating with representatives from Korea (host), Thailand, Indonesia, Japan, Iran, Kuwait, China, Kazakhstan...
In February this year, VTV Binh Dien Long An team played the Southeast Asian qualifying match against Supreme Tip Chonburi-E.Tech (Thailand) to compete for a spot in the AVC Champions League 2026. At that time, the representative of Vietnamese women's volleyball lost the match.
However, in mid-March recently, the Asian Volleyball Federation still decided to grant a special slot for VTV Binh Dien Long An to participate in the tournament.
This year, the AVC Champions League 2026 will be played in a knockout format. Meaning, the teams will be drawn up and the winning team will win the right to continue. This new format is one of the obstacles that made VTV Binh Dien Long An team decide not to participate even though they already have a spot.
Last year, VTV Binh Dien Long An team won the runner-up title at the tournament and then got a ticket to participate in the 2025 FIFA Women's Club World Cup in Brazil. At that time, the team also did not participate in the 2025 FIFA Women's Club World Cup due to long travel and large budget.
VTV Binh Dien Long An team is currently participating in the Hoa Lu Cup 2026 in Ninh Binh from March 18 to March 23.
