Strengthening surprise inspection
In the peak period of fighting against smuggling, trade fraud, counterfeit goods, and infringement of intellectual property rights, Can Tho City has established 2 interdisciplinary inspection teams to conduct inspections of organizations and individuals producing and trading goods and commercial services in the area. Notably, all inspection activities take place suddenly, without prior notice, to ensure objectivity and efficiency.
From May 23, 2025 to June 10, 2025, the authorities inspected 34 facilities and discovered 30 violations. The total amount of administrative fines is 149,750,000 VND.

Despite the surprise inspection, the interdisciplinary delegations still ensure that business activities are not interrupted.
Through inspection, the force mainly focuses on controlling goods circulating on the market, checking the origin, quality, labeling of goods and listing prices, selling at the correct listed prices. If the establishments comply with the provisions of the law, they can rest assured, all business activities will continue normally, said Mr. Le Hoai Nha.
Meanwhile, for businesses, this is an inspection of positive significance. Not only helping to detect and handle violations, inspection activities also contribute to raising awareness of more responsible business with the community and society.

Maintaining feedback channels
In the coming time, the Market Management Department of Can Tho City will continue to strengthen market inspection and control, and promote inter-sectoral inspection coordination. At the same time, the unit maintains the operation of the hotline to receive petitions and feedback from people, contributing to promptly preventing the trade of counterfeit goods, counterfeit goods, and smuggled goods.
The Department affirmed that it will strictly handle violations in accordance with the provisions of the law, without exceptions, without forbidden areas.
Previously, the People's Committee of Can Tho City established a Working Group of the Chairman of the City People's Committee to launch a peak period of fighting to prevent and repel smuggling, trade fraud, counterfeit goods, and infringement of intellectual property rights (abbreviated as the Working Group).
The working group is headed by Chairman of Can Tho City People's Committee Truong Canh Tuyen, with the function and task of organizing and implementing a peak period of fighting to prevent and repel smuggling, trade fraud, counterfeit goods, and infringement of intellectual property rights in the city, from May 15, 2025 to June 15, 2025; organize inspections and strictly handle violations according to the provisions of law.
