WTI oil price was at 75.28 USD/barrel, down 1.51 USD/barrel, equivalent to a decrease of 1.97%. Brent oil was at 78.49 USD/barrel, down 1.06 USD/barrel, equivalent to a decrease of 1.33%.
Oil prices fell in early Thursday's trading session after the US and Iran signed a temporary agreement to end the Iran war, reopen the Strait of Hormuz and lift US sanctions on Tehran's oil, addressing the largest energy supply disruption in history.
Standards continue to fall, reversing the upward momentum achieved on Wednesday after US President Donald Trump declared he could resume the bombing campaign if Iranian leaders "do not behave properly".
According to market analyst Tony Sycamore of IG, the sell-off continues as the energy market continues to strongly reflect expectations of a faster-than-expected return of Iranian oil supplies after the recent memorandum of cooperation between the US and Iran.
