In the first trading session of the week, world oil prices plummeted by more than 6% after US President Donald Trump announced the postponement of plans to attack Iran and resume diplomatic talks. Along with the OPEC+ decision to increase production from September, the market expects supply to improve, pulling Brent oil prices down to the lowest level in 3 weeks. Singapore's finished petroleum prices simultaneously fell, creating room for domestic price adjustment this Thursday.
The world gasoline and oil market in the past week's operating period was affected by key factors such as: Conflict between the US and Iran temporarily cooled down but then showed signs of re-emerging; Iran continued to attack some ships passing through the Strait of Hormuz; military conflict showed signs of spreading in the Middle East region when the US, Saudi Arabia and Iranian-backed armed groups in Iraq had mutual attacks; military conflict between Russia and Ukraine continued, focusing on energy facilities, oil refineries...
The above factors have caused world finished gasoline and oil prices in recent days to increase and decrease depending on the item.
The selling prices of popular consumer gasoline and oil items on the market on August 3rd are as follows:
- E5 RON92 gasoline: not higher than 22,388 VND/liter, lower than E10 RON95-III gasoline by 471 VND/liter;
- E10 RON95-III gasoline: not higher than 22,859 VND/liter;
- Diesel oil 0.05S: not higher than 27,624 VND/liter;
- 180CST 3.5S mazut oil: not higher than 16,478 VND/kg.
