According to statistics from the Hanoi Market Management Department (QLTT), in November 2025 (from October 16 to November 15), the entire Department inspected and handled 500 cases related to smuggling, counterfeit goods, and trade fraud. The total amount of money collected for the state budget in the month (fines, collection, sales confiscated, interest...) reached 7.08 billion VND.
Among the cases that were handled, the Hanoi Market Management Department determined to transfer the investigation agency of the two cases to the investigation agency. These are serious, complicated cases, or cases with signs of criminal crimes, including large-scale trading of banned goods, counterfeit goods, and violations of organized intellectual property.
Accumulated in the 11 months of 2025 (from December 16, 2024 to November 15, 2025), the Department has inspected and handled 4,762 cases. The total amount of money collected for the budget will reach 97.8 billion VND, equivalent to 135.85% of the 2025 target.

To achieve the above results, in November 2025, the Hanoi Market Management Department issued many important directives, promptly implementing professional tasks associated with the market situation and the direction of the Central and City.
In addition, the unit regularly coordinates with the Standing Office of the National Steering Committee 389 in informing typical cases, promptly reporting and proposing solutions to strengthen inter-sectoral coordination.
The unit is also continuing to implement Plan No. 78/KH-BCD389/TP dated October 8, 2025 on interdisciplinary inspection against smuggling, trade fraud, and counterfeit goods in the last months of the year in the city.
At the same time, the Market Management Department has stepped up internal inspections, citizen reception, anti-corruption, and legal dissemination.

According to the Head of the Hanoi Market Management Department Trinh Quang Duc, it is forecasted that in the last months of 2025 and the Lunar New Year, the demand for consumer goods will increase during the Lunar New Year, so smuggling and production of counterfeit goods will increase, becoming more complicated.
In particular, the phenomenon of illegal transportation of goods by air has emerged, taking advantage of goods trading activities in the e-commerce environment, taking advantage of express delivery to transport smuggled goods, counterfeit goods, poor quality goods, and goods of unknown origin...
In order to prevent smuggled and counterfeit goods, the Hanoi Market Management Department continues to implement Plan No. 05/KH-BCD 389/TP dated July 9, 2025 on the fight against smuggling, trade fraud and counterfeit goods in 2025 in Hanoi.
The entire force will continue to tighten inspections and closely monitor local developments, not allowing "hot spots" for smuggled goods, counterfeit goods and banned goods to arise. At the same time, resolutely handle violations in cyberspace to maintain market stability, contributing to the goal of sustainable, transparent and safe socio-economic development of the capital.
The fight to focus on essential consumer goods predicts increased demand during holidays and Tet such as cigarettes, firecrackers, food, cakes, candy, wine, beer, soft drinks, functional foods, cosmetics, etc. The areas of focus for inspection are markets, shopping malls, supermarkets, traffic hubs, goods gathering points, key traffic routes, etc.
"However, in addition to the efforts of the authorities, it is necessary for wards and communes to proactively grasp the situation, strengthen professional measures, detect and strictly handle violations; focus on inspecting and strictly controlling key routes, areas, warehouses, gathering points, and essential goods, thereby creating a breakthrough in controlling e-commerce," Mr. Trinh Quang Duc suggested.
In addition, to improve the effectiveness of preventing and combating smuggling and counterfeit goods, in addition to the efforts of the authorities, the cooperation of the community, people and businesses is very important.
Each person needs to proactively shop at reputable stores, supermarkets, and e-commerce platforms, and be vigilant against goods of unknown origin. Enterprises need to comply with legal regulations, make the origin of goods transparent, and avoid collaborating in commercial fraud.
At the same time, the community can promptly provide information and report acts of smuggling, production and trading of counterfeit goods to the authorities. Close coordination between market management forces, local authorities and the whole society will create a healthy trading environment, contributing to stabilizing the market, protecting consumer rights and developing a sustainable economy.
