According to information from the Customs Department, the Customs force is strengthening control of goods transit activities according to Plan No. 3362/KH-CHQ of the Customs Department on inspection, supervision and control against illegal transportation and fraud of origin for imported, exported and transit goods.
The unit has strengthened the work of collecting, analyzing information, and identifying key points; at the same time, promptly organized forces to exchange information and coordinate with a number of Customs units in key areas to inspect the actual situation of imported and transit shipments with signs of suspected violations of customs law.
Up to now, the unit has coordinated with customs units at border gates to inspect and detect many violations, notably cases related to origin fraud and goods labeling.
Typically, recently, the Customs force has promptly prevented and seized a transit shipment from China to Cambodia through Huu Nghi international border gate, in which over 2,000 famous branded counterfeit handbags and sandals such as LOUIS VUittON, CHANEL, HERMES and CROCS were hidden.
On November 22, 2025, at the Huu Nghi International Border Gate Customs Headquarters (Dong Dang Commune, Lang Son Province), the Working Group of the Anti-smuggling Investigation Department (Team 1) coordinated with Huu Nghi International Border Gate Customs (Rural Customs Branch VI) to conduct an on-site inspection of a transit shipment from China to Cambodia suspected of violating customs declaration.
According to the company's declaration, the shipment contained 39 items. The results of the actual inspection of the goods showed that in addition to 39 items in accordance with the customs declaration, there were also some items not in the declaration, including 04 items of goods showing signs of violating intellectual property, including: 1,800 pairs of Crocs children's sandals, 175 handbags with the LOUIS VUittON brand, 65 handbags with the CHANEL brand, 125 handbags with the her HerMES brand. All of the above goods are 100% new. Currently, the Customs authority is continuing to verify and clarify signs of violations to strictly handle them according to the provisions of the law.
Previously, the Customs force promptly prevented and seized a transit shipment from China to Cambodia through Huu Nghi International Border Gate, hiding more than 2,000 products including shoes, backpacks, and dresses counterfeiting Crocs, Nike, BALMAIN brands, with the goods label "Made in Viet Nam" and 11,500 fake phone headphones of OPPO brand.
On October 22, 2025, at the Thuc Inspection Site for goods in the Huu Nghi Border Gate area (Lang Son), the Working Group of Team 1 (under the Anti-smuggling Investigation Department) coordinated with Huu Nghi International Border Gate Customs (Region VI Customs Branch) to inspect the actual situation of a shipment of transit goods from China to Cambodia with suspected customs declaration violations.
According to the company's declaration, the goods in the shipment included 15 items. However, the results of the actual inspection of goods showed that only 01/15 items of goods were in accordance with customs declaration. Of the remaining 14/15 items, 08 items of goods declared excess or missing quantity compared to actual goods; 06 items of goods without actual goods.
The Customs authority also discovered 21 items of goods not included in the customs declaration, including 05 items with signs of violating intellectual property rights, including 1,100 pairs of foam plastic sandals counterfeiting the Crocs brand; 50 sets of dresses counterfeiting the BALMAIN brand, on the goods trademark with the words Couture ELYSEES 64-83; 50 pairs of sports shoes and 900 pairs of backpacks of fabric counterfeiting the Nike brand, on the goods with the words "Made in Vietnam". In addition, 11,500 headphone products for phones counterfeiting the OPPO brand were also discovered.
As a result, on November 18, 2025, the Customs authority issued a Decision to sanction administrative violations for the following acts: Exposing information incorrectly compared to the actual quantity (an object worth over VND 10,000,000), handling the transit of counterfeit goods of Vietnamese origin and handling the transit of counterfeit goods. The total fine is 250,800,000 VND, and 05 items of counterfeit goods must be destroyed.
