On November 26, the Government Office announced that it had just issued Document No. 11554/VPCP-V.I conveying the direction of Deputy Prime Minister Bui Thanh Son - Head of the National Steering Committee 389 on improving the effectiveness of the fight against smuggling, trade fraud and counterfeit goods.
The Deputy Prime Minister requested ministers of ministries, heads of ministerial-level agencies, agencies under the Government and Chairmen of People's Committees of provinces and cities to direct units, functional forces, People's Committees of communes, wards and special zones to continue to thoroughly grasp and strictly and fully implement the directions of the Government and the Prime Minister in Directive No. 13/CT-TTg on strengthening the fight against smuggling, trade fraud and counterfeit goods in the new situation.
The authorities must continuously, regularly, non-stop, continuously with the spirit of "working day, working night, working extra days off" to promptly detect and strictly handle violators, with the motto " handling one case, warning the whole region, the whole field", "no forbidden areas, no exceptions".
Promote coordination, information exchange, and mobilize collective strength in performing assigned tasks.
The Minister of Finance - Deputy Head of the Standing Committee of the National Steering Committee 389 focuses on leading and directing relevant units to urgently complete the Peak Plan against smuggling, trade fraud and counterfeit goods before, during and after the Lunar New Year 2026 according to the Government's direction.
The Steering Committee 389 of ministries, branches and localities will develop a plan, organize dissemination, direct the serious, drastic and effective implementation of the contents in the plan of the National Steering Committee 389.
Urgently complete the summary and evaluation of the implementation of Directive No. 30/CT-TTg of the Prime Minister and the draft Directive of the Prime Minister on strengthening the fight against tobacco smuggling in the new situation, ensuring compliance with legal regulations, in accordance with requirements and practical situations.
Urgently conduct a 6-month review of the implementation of Directive No. 13/CT-TTg dated May 17, 2025 of the Prime Minister on strengthening the fight against smuggling, trade fraud and counterfeit goods in the new situation, and recommend necessary measures in the coming time to improve the effectiveness of this work; report to the Prime Minister on the results before November 30, 2025.
Vietnam Television, Voice of Vietnam, Vietnam News Agency and the press agencies system coordinate with ministries, branches, and functional forces to increase time, propagate about the dangers of smuggling, trade fraud, counterfeit goods, counterfeit goods, infringement of intellectual property rights, copyright infringement to raise awareness and responsibility of cadres, civil servants and people.
Propagate and disseminate fraud and deception tricks and methods of the subjects so that the people can recognize them, raise vigilance and inform competent state agencies.
Strictly manage and control to prevent false advertising on TV stations, radio stations, newspapers, and specialized magazines under authority, easily causing confusion to the people; commend positive examples and good practices of ministries, branches, localities and people; criticize and condemn negative behaviors and lack of responsibility.
