Ly Son garlic specialty is good for the season but the price is low, only ranging from 20,000-30,000 VND/kg, making farmers unable to fully enjoy.

Garlic is the main crop of Ly Son island district, accounting for more than 70% of the district's agricultural output. This year, favorable weather has helped most of the garlic fields of farmers on the island grow and develop well. The season of harvested garlic is a good one, so garlic growers are excited. Ms. Le Thi Do - a resident of Tay An Hai village, Ly Son district - said: "This year's garlic is in good harvest and has achieved high yields. As much garlic is harvested, traders come to buy it all."

Although garlic is in good harvest, the price of fresh garlic is low, ranging from 20,000 to 30,000 VND/kg. Therefore, the joy of garlic growers is not complete. Mr. Bui Thanh Hong (residing in Tay An Hai village) said: "Although the garlic season is here, farmers are very happy, but the price of fresh garlic is still low. We hope that in the coming time, garlic prices will increase so that garlic growers can improve their income".

This year's garlic crop, farmers in Ly Son district grow about 320 hectares, with the total garlic output of the district estimated at about 3,000 tons. Ly Son garlic is a specialty famous all over the country, but its price is unstable. The problem of crops being poor in season and prices being poor in season still occurs frequently. The current price of garlic is not commensurate with the value of this famous specialty. According to farmers, to avoid losses, most Ly Son people dry, store garlic and wait for prices to increase. However, the price of dried garlic in recent years has also fluctuated erratically.

To enhance the value of this specialty, Quang Ngai needs to form a production and consumption chain to solve the problem of under-season and under-season prices. Ly Son garlic has been granted a collective trademark certificate by the Department of Intellectual Property for the past 15 years. However, up to now, the Ly Son garlic brand has not been fully exploited and exploited its potential in the market. The construction and development of the production - consumption chain is an important bridge between people and businesses, helping to ensure stability from input to output.
