Oil prices fell slightly on Friday due to signs that the US may engage in dialogue with Iran on its nuclear program, reducing concerns about supply disruptions due to a US attack, although oil prices are still on a strong upward trend this month as tensions increase.
In the price adjustment period last week, the Ministry of Industry and Trade said that the world gasoline and oil market in the operating period (from January 22, 2026 - January 28, 2026) was affected by key factors such as: Tension between the United States and Iran; strong cold weather occurring in the United States; US oil inventories falling more sharply than forecast; the USD depreciating; prospects in negotiations to resolve military conflict between Russia and Ukraine; military conflict between Russia and Ukraine still continuing... The above factors caused world gasoline and oil prices in recent days to fluctuate upwards and downwards depending on each item.
Regarding the domestic market, a representative of a gasoline and oil business said that it will fluctuate according to the world gasoline and oil situation. According to the current market developments, it is predicted that in the next price adjustment period, retail gasoline and oil prices may increase.
In the adjustment session last week, January 29, 2026, gasoline prices simultaneously increased compared to the price adjustment period last week. In which, E5 RON 92 gasoline priced at 18,339 VND/liter (up 56 VND/liter). RON 95-III gasoline priced at 18,845 VND/liter (up 214 VND/liter).
Prices of oil items simultaneously increased. Diesel oil 0.05S is priced at 18,173 VND/liter (up 473 VND/liter); kerosene has a new price of 18,176 VND/liter (up 226 VND/liter); mazut oil 180CST 3.5S is priced at 14,633 VND/kg (up 761 VND/kg).
