World coffee prices
International exchanges ( London and New York) have not opened the first session of the week (afternoon of November 10, Vietnam time). Prices are holding steady at the explosive closing level of last weekend's session (Friday, 07 November).
In that session, Robusta ( London) skyrocketed by 118 USD/ton (up 2.60%). Arabica (New York) also increased dramatically, by 11.05 US cents/lb (up 2.79%).
Assessment and forecast
Last weekend's explosive price increase was the result of dual concerns about weather and inventory crises.
Regarding the weather, typhoon Kalmaegi made landfall in Vietnam (last Thursday) and the meteorological agency warned that heavy rain could cause damage to Robusta coffee trees in the Central Highlands. At the same time, in Brazil, droughts are still worrying as rainfall in Minas Gerais is only 75% of average (after a week of almost no rain), threatening an important flowering stage.
The strongest supporting factor for prices is still the sharp decline in inventories due to the impact of US-Brazil tariffs. Arabica inventories on the ICE have fallen to a 1.75-year low (only 417,478 bags), and Robusta inventories are also at a 3.5-month low.
However, the market is still held back by supply factors. Vietnam's exports in the first 10 months of 2025 increased by 13.4% ( Latest data) and the forecast of a bumper crop is still putting pressure. In addition, hopes that the US-Brazil could lift a 50% tariff have also made some investors hesitant.
The market forecast to start the new week with a very positive mentality. As long as the weather risk (storm in Vietnam, drought in Brazil) and low inventory conditions remain, coffee prices will continue to be strongly supported.
