The largest coffee growing area in the country
On the morning of November 6, Mr. Nguyen Hoang Phuc, Deputy Director of the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Lam Dong province, said that after the merger, Lam Dong is the province with the largest coffee growing area in the country with over 327,000 hectares (accounting for 45.2% of the country's coffee growing area).

In 2025, the total output of the province is estimated to reach 123 million tons of green coffee beans. With the existing area and output, Lam Dong will be the coffee capital of the country.
Coffee is the main crop of local people. With investment in good care and productivity, coffee output in the province is constantly increasing.
From the end of 2023 to now, coffee prices have continuously increased and remained stable, contributing significantly to promoting the development of Lam Dong agricultural sector and bringing high income to people.

Actual records show that, starting from the beginning of November 2025, coffee growers in Lam Dong are entering the harvest season.
This year, coffee prices in Lam Dong are at a high level, ranging from 113,500 VND - 115,000 VND/kg (cocoa beans). Meanwhile, the price of fresh coffee berries ranges from 23,000 VND - 25,000 VND/kg.
Mr. Nguyen Hoang Giang, residing in Bao Lam 1 commune (Lam Dong) said: My family has 6 hectares of coffee. This year, it is estimated that 28 to 30 tons of green coffee beans will be harvested. With current prices, this coffee crop is expected to bring in an income of over 3 billion VND.
Uncertainty about coffee theft
Along with the joy of good coffee harvests and good prices, farmers are facing the fear of being stolen.
At the beginning of the season, coffee theft in the province is showing complicated signs, posing a potential risk of causing disorder.

Recently, on November 4, while visiting a coffee garden in Loc Ngai village 5 (Bao Lam 1 commune), Ms. Tran Dien discovered that her family's coffee garden had been broken into and stolen by thieves.
Dozens of coffee trees were swept away and only had branches left, many trees had branches cut across and lying around in the garden.

"Now the coffee price is high, so thieves are too reckless, regardless. Going to pick and steal but still carry a tarpaulin, then plot like your garden. If neighbors see it, they will think my family hired someone to pick it, but they don't know it is a thief" - Ms. Dien said.
Similarly, Mr. Nguyen Phuong, residing in Bao Lam 3 commune, said that at the beginning of the season, my family's coffee garden was still green but had been stolen by thieves. Not only picking fruit, thieves also break coffee branches, making my family very worried and insecure.

Previously, on November 2, through patrolling, Phuc Tho Lam Ha Commune Police (Lam Dong) coordinated with local people to catch a subject red-handed stealing coffee.
The thief who was arrested was T.D.M (30 years old, from Nghe An province) along with the evidence of 2 bags of fresh coffee nearly 100kg.
In Bao Lam 1 and Bao Lam 3 communes, the police have summoned many teenagers who steal coffee from people to deter and educate them.

The leader of Bao Lam 3 Commune Police (Lam Dong) said that recently, many people in the area have reported that their coffee gardens have been stolen.
The commune police promptly grasped information from public opinion to fight and prevent effectively.
