World coffee prices
The international coffee market has simultaneously "turned around" and shockingly decreased after two consecutive price increases.
Robusta ( London) increased by 156 USD/ton (equivalent to -3.31%), closing at 4,544 USD/ton. Arabica (New York) also decreased by 16.85 US cents/lb (equivalent to -4.06%), closing at 396.75 US cents/lb.
Assessment and forecast
The sharp decline in coffee prices in the session due to the forecast of stable rain in Brazil next week has eased concerns about drought, putting great pressure on Arabica prices. Robusta coffee has also decreased due to increased supply from Vietnam.
According to the General Statistics Office of Vietnam, our country's coffee exports in the first 10 months of 2025 increased by 13.4% over the same period, reaching 1.31 million tons. Coffee output in the 2025-2026 crop year is forecast to increase by 6% to 1.76 million tons (equivalent to 29.4 million bags). This is the highest level in 4 years.
The Vietnam Coffee and Cocoa Association (Vicofa) said that if the weather is favorable, the 2025 - 2026 crop output could be 10% higher than the previous crop. Vietnam is currently the world's largest producer of Robusta coffee.
Arabica prices are also under pressure from predictions that the US may soon lift the 50% tax on Brazilian coffee.
However, concerns about global extreme weather could disrupt coffee production. The region with the largest Arabica growing region in Brazil only received 33.4mm of rain in the week, equivalent to 75% of the average, after achieving only 1% of the normal rainfall in the previous week. In addition, storm Kalmaegi made landfall in South Vietnam, causing significant damage to Robusta coffee trees.
