Domestic coffee prices today
Coffee prices today in the domestic market turned down after the previous increase session. According to giacaphe. com, the average coffee price on August 12 was 97,400 VND/kg, down 400 VND/kg compared to the previous session.
In Dak Lak, coffee prices were recorded at 97,300 VND/kg, down 400 VND/kg.
In Lam Dong, coffee prices reached 96,800 VND/kg, down 400 VND/kg. This is the lowest level among the surveyed areas.
In Gia Lai, coffee price is at 97,300 VND/kg, down 400 VND/kg.
The old Dak Nong area recorded a level of 97,500 VND/kg, down 500 VND/kg. This is the highest level in today's price list.
The USD/VND exchange rate according to Vietcombank was recorded at 25,920 VND/USD, an increase of 10 VND.
World coffee prices
In the world market, coffee prices in the most recent session diễn biến trái chiều (developed in opposite directions).
According to Barchart, the September 2026 Arabica futures contract closed up 3.45 US cents/lb, equivalent to 1.04%. Conversely, the September 2026 Robusta futures contract fell 24 USD/ton, equivalent to 0.63%.
This development shows that the upward momentum in the world market is mainly concentrated in Arabica. Meanwhile, Robusta - a group that has a more direct impact on Vietnamese coffee prices - has decreased, creating pressure on domestic purchase prices.
Coffee price assessment
Domestic coffee prices decreased by 400-500 VND/kg in the context of world Robusta falling. Although Arabica increased, the domestic market is unlikely to be strongly supported as Robusta London is still an important reference for Vietnamese coffee.
According to Barchart, Arabica increased due to concerns about Colombian supply disruptions after the earthquake, while Arabica certified inventories on ICE fell to a 2.5-year low. Conversely, Robusta inventories on ICE rose to a 4.75-month high, putting pressure on Robusta prices.
Barchart also reflects that Brazil's coffee harvest progress is still slower than the same period. As of July 31, Cooxupe cooperative members harvested 67.3% of the expected output, lower than 74.2% in the same period last year. However, lower-than-normal rainfall in Brazil may help accelerate harvest progress, creating a price-suppressing factor.
Regarding domestic weather, the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting said that on the day and night of August 12, the Central Highlands area will have showers and thunderstorms in some places; especially in the afternoon and evening, there will be showers and scattered thunderstorms. Lowest temperature 20-23 degrees C, highest 26-29 degrees C.
This season's thunderstorms need to be monitored in terms of garden care, pest and disease prevention, and goods preservation.
According to the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment, in July, Vietnam exported about 147,600 tons of coffee, worth 639.5 million USD. Accumulated in the first 7 months of the year, coffee exports reached about 1.2 million tons, an increase of 10.8% in volume but turnover decreased by 11.2%, to 5.45 billion USD. This development is mainly due to the average export price decreasing by 19.9% compared to the same period, down to 4,537 USD/ton.
In the coming sessions, the diễn biến of Robusta London, USD/VND exchange rate, inventory and demand for export purchases will continue to dominate the domestic price level.
