Reports of storms and rain hitting key areas of Vietnam are increasing the threat of supply disruptions.
At the same time, Vietnam's low export figures in recent months have also pushed up coffee prices. As of October 2024, Vietnam's coffee exports reached 44,000 tons of coffee. In the first 10 months of the year, Vietnam exported 1.15 million tons, down 11.2% over the same period.
Slow exports from Vietnam have also tightened the global coffee market, supporting prices. Meanwhile, recent weather conditions in the two leading coffee exporting countries, Brazil and Vietnam, have raised concerns about the future of the upcoming harvest.
