Market analysis
Coffee prices fell sharply due to improved global supply. Brazil - the world's largest coffee producer - is entering the harvest season with an expected increase of 0.5%, reaching about 65 million bags. In Vietnam, Robusta coffee output in the 2025-2026 crop year is estimated to increase by 7%, to a 4-year high of about 31 million bags thanks to favorable weather.
The decline was also driven by profit-taking activities on the London and New York exchanges, as speculators rushed to sell after a period of high prices. Warm winter forecast in Brazil eases price fog concerns, while a stronger US dollar puts pressure on domestic coffee prices. In addition, geopolitical tensions have also caused cash flow to leave the commodity market, contributing to the decline in global coffee prices.
