Domestic coffee prices
The domestic coffee market this morning, March 24, had a slight decrease after a period of hovering at the peak of the month. Agents in the Central Highlands region simultaneously lowered the average purchase price by about 400 VND/kg, bringing the average price of the whole region back to 93.6 million VND/kg. Despite the adjustment, this is still a relatively high price range compared to the general level of February.
Detailed purchase prices in key areas:
Dak Nong (old): Continues to maintain the leading position despite a decrease of 300 VND, currently at 93,700 VND/kg.
Dak Lak and Gia Lai: Both adjusted down by 500 VND, currently purchasing at the mark of 93. 500 VND/kg.
Lam Dong: Trading around the threshold of 92.600 VND/kg after decreasing by 400 VND compared to the previous session.
World coffee prices
The first trading session of the week witnessed red color covering both London and New York exchanges due to favorable weather information in Brazil.
New York Stock Exchange (Arabica): May 2026 futures fell 2.75 cents (-0.88%), closing the session at 307.00 cents/lb. The main pressure comes from the forecast that rain will return to key growing areas of Brazil this week, helping to improve soil moisture and support the ripening process of coffee beans.
London Stock Exchange (Robusta): May 2026 delivery fell 27 USD (-0.73%), closing at 3,637 USD/ton. Robusta lost momentum despite information that stocks on the ICE exchange are still at a record low (4,257 lots). Investors are cautious as Vietnam's export figures in the first 2 months of the year increased by 14% y/y, reaching 360,000 tons.
Market outlook
Despite being under short-term adjustment pressure, the market still receives underground support from geopolitical risks. The fact that the Strait of Hormuz continues to be closed, disrupting global shipping, is still a factor keeping prices from falling too deeply. However, long-term supply prospects are very abundant with a record production forecast of 75.3 million sacks by StoneX for Brazil and a global production forecast of 180 million sacks by Rabobank.
It is forecasted that in the coming sessions, coffee prices will continue to fluctuate strongly around the 92,500 - 94,000 VND/kg range. If rainfall in Brazil is really abundant as forecast, coffee prices may have deeper retreats to test the support levels below.
