Domestic coffee prices increase but remain weak
The price of green coffee beans this morning in the Central Highlands provinces increased again, with Dak Lak and Dak Nong standing at VND94,200/kg, Gia Lai at VND94,100/kg, Lam Dong at VND93,900/kg.
Compared to the beginning of last week (June 23, common price around VND 91,000/kg), domestic coffee prices are currently 2,900 - 3,200 VND/kg higher, but still far from the peak in April when the price reached 129,300 - 130,200 VND/kg (April 16, 2025).
World coffee prices increase and decrease in different directions
On the London Stock Exchange, Robusta coffee prices today fluctuated in different terms. Specifically, the September 2025 delivery period decreased slightly by 4 USD, closing at 3,661 USD/ton. Meanwhile, longer terms increased: January 2026 increased by 11 USD to 3,536 USD/ton; March 2026 increased by 20 USD to 3,509 USD/ton; May 2026 increased sharply by 25 USD, to 3,483 USD/ton.
The trading volume is quite stable, showing that buying power appears when prices fall to attractive areas but not enough to reverse the long-term downtrend.
On the New York Stock Exchange, Arabica coffee prices continued to decline simultaneously in all terms. The September 2025 term decreased by 1.90 cents to 303.75 cents/pound; Long terms such as December 2025, March 2026, and May 2026 decreased by 3.00 - 4.20 cents, respectively, trading around 286.45 - 297.40 cents/pound.
The sharp decrease in the range shows the cautious psychology of speculators towards the prospect of abundant supply from Brazil - a country about to enter the Arabica harvest season, which could increase selling pressure sharply.
The market is still under a lot of pressure
Coffee prices today are supported by the need to buy back, but the market is still under pressure from large supply in Brazil and the prospect of recovery output in Vietnam. Short-term forecasts show that prices may continue to fluctuate within a narrow range, with no sign of a strong increase.
