In the Northern region, the pig market is quite vibrant with most localities adjusting the purchase price to a higher level. Of which, Cao Bang, Bac Ninh, Hai Phong and Hung Yen are purchasing at 69,000 VND/kg, the highest price in the country at present. Provinces such as Tuyen Quang, Thai Nguyen, Hanoi, Ninh Binh, Phu Tho and Son La also recorded prices around 68,000 VND/kg.
In the Central region, the price of live pigs also tends to increase by 1,000 - 2,000 VND/kg today. Thanh Hoa and Nghe An both reached 68,000 VND/kg, the highest in the region. Localities such as Ha Tinh and Quang Ngai are trading around 66,000 VND/kg, while Gia Lai and Dak Lak recorded 65,000 - 64,000 VND/kg. The remaining localities in this region are fluctuating between 63,000 - 68,000 VND/kg.
In the Southern region, the price of live pigs remains stable. The common purchase price is 60,000 - 63,000 VND/kg, lower than in the North and Central regions. In Dong Nai, Tay Ninh and Ho Chi Minh City, traders are purchasing around 63,000 VND/kg, while other localities such as An Giang, Ca Mau, Vinh Long, Can Tho recorded prices from 60,000 - 61,000 VND/kg.
