Domestic pepper prices: Standing in price range
As of 11:30 am today (February 10), domestic pepper prices rebounded, averaging 149,500 VND/kg. Currently, key areas are trading in the range of 148,500 - 151,000 VND/kg.
Areas are bustling again after many days of sideways movement, the current pepper price list for specific areas is as follows:
Gia Lai increased by another 500 VND/kg, anchored at the threshold of 148. 500 VND/kg.
Dak Lak and Lam Dong both increased by 500 VND/kg, trading at the mark of 151,000 VND/kg.
Ho Chi Minh City increased by another 500 VND/kg, bringing the market price to 149,000 VND/kg.
Dong Nai alone did not change the price threshold of 148,000 VND/kg.
World pepper prices: Rotation and reversal
In the world market, pepper prices increased and decreased interspersed. The Indonesian exchange - one of the most vibrant markets is no exception. These two items traded in the range of 6,851 - 9,273 USD/ton (equivalent to 178,640 VND/kg - 241,794 VND/kg). While black pepper increased sharply by 131 USD/ton, white pepper recorded a slight decrease of 1 USD/ton.
The Brazilian market remained unchanged at 6,100 USD/ton (about 159,58 VND/kg). Notably, black and white peppers after a series of unchanged days unexpectedly increased by 100 USD/ton, trading at 12,100 USD/ton and 9,100 USD/ton.
In Vietnam's pepper export market, the price of black pepper of 500 g/l and 550 g/l is maintained at 6,400 - 6,600 USD/ton. ASTA white pepper price continues to be offered for sale at 9,150 USD/ton (equivalent to 238,587 VND/kg).
Assessments and forecasts
According to the Vietnam Pepper and Spice Plant Association (VPSA), pressure on pepper prices will appear immediately after Tet when the peak harvest season begins (around the end of February, early March).
Compared to the same period last year, this year's pepper crop is already a big victory, when the price range is doubled. Maintaining a comfortable mentality to celebrate Binh Ngo Tet 2026 will help people prepare their mindset when returning to the market in the new year.
