Domestic pepper prices: Standing in price range
As of 11:30 am today (February 9), domestic pepper prices are flat, averaging 149.100 VND/kg. Currently, key areas are trading in the range of 148,000 - 150,500 VND/kg.
The areas do not have much fluctuation, the current pepper price list for specific areas is as follows:
Dong Nai and Gia Lai are also anchored at the threshold of 148,000 VND/kg.
Dak Lak and Lam Dong traded at the mark of 150. 500 VND/kg.
Ho Chi Minh City remained unchanged, offering a market price of 148,500 VND/kg.
World pepper prices: Unchanged
In the world market, pepper prices extend the series of stable days. The Indonesian exchange - one of the most vibrant markets is no exception. These two items are traded in the range of 6,720 - 9,274 USD/ton (equivalent to 175,661 VND/kg - 241,717 VND/kg).
Meanwhile, the Brazilian market remained unchanged at 6,100 USD/ton (about 159,454 VND/kg). Black and white peppers continued to remain unchanged, trading at 12,000 USD/ton and 9,000 USD/ton.
Notably, in Vietnam's pepper export market, the price of black peppers of 500 g/l and 550 g/l is maintained at 6,400 - 6,600 USD/ton. ASTA white pepper price continues to be offered for sale at 9,150 USD/ton (equivalent to 239,181 VND/kg).

Assessments and forecasts
After a series of days of hovering above 151,000 VND, the upward momentum of the pepper market has stalled and reversed to slightly decrease in most key areas.
Although adjusted down, the price above 150,000 VND/kg is still a good price for pepper growers for the past 5 years. This fluctuation is identified by experts as a necessary technical adjustment for the market to absorb the previous cheap inventory.
