Domestic pepper prices: Sharp decrease
As of 11:30 am today (May 18), domestic pepper prices interrupted the series of sideways movements, averaging 140,800 VND/kg, a sharp decrease of 2,300 VND/kg. Currently, key areas are trading in the range of 139,000 - 142,000 VND/kg.
Domestic pepper prices have fallen sharply after a series of days of maintaining consecutive price ranges, currently the listed prices in regions are as follows:
Gia Lai province decreased by 2,500 VND/kg, trading at the mark of 139,000 VND/kg.
Dong Nai and Binh Phuoc reduced by 2,000 VND/kg and 3,000 VND/kg, respectively, listed at 141,000 VND/kg and 140,000 VND/kg.
In the same direction, Dak Lak and Lam Dong decreased by 2,000 VND/kg, offering for sale at the highest purchase price of 142,000 VND/kg.
World pepper prices: Stable
In the world market, pepper prices are stable in countries. The two items of black and white pepper in Indonesia stand firm, trading in the range of 7,050 - 9,244 USD/ton (equivalent to 186,029 VND/kg - 243,922 VND/kg).
The Brazilian market maintained an increase of 100 USD/ton, listed at 6,250 USD/ton (about 164,919 VND/kg). Notably, black and white peppers in the same direction maintained an increase of 50 USD/ton, trading at 12,250 USD/ton and 9,350 USD/ton.
In Vietnam's pepper export market, the price of black pepper of 500 g/l and 550 g/l remains at 6,100 - 6,200 USD/ton. In the same direction, ASTA white pepper is offered for sale at 9,000 USD/ton (equivalent to 237,483 VND/kg).

Assessments and forecasts
After a series of days of sideways movement and anchoring in high price zones, domestic pepper prices have had major fluctuations when they simultaneously decreased from 2,000 - 3,000 VND/kg.
The Import-Export Department (Ministry of Industry and Trade) cited statistics from the Customs Department, stating that Vietnam's pepper exports in April 2026 reached 30.9 thousand tons, worth 193.88 million USD, an increase of 1.3% in volume but a decrease of 2.9% in value compared to March 2026; compared to April 2025, an increase of 17.3% in volume and 5.4% in value.
The US continues to be the largest export market for Vietnamese pepper, accounting for about 25.57% of total exports in the first 4 months of the year. Germany is still ranked second with about 5.07% market share.
