Domestic pepper prices: Unexpectedly stable
As of 11:30 today (September 18), the domestic pepper market remained unchanged after a day of price reduction, averaging VND 148,600/kg. Currently, the price ranges from 147,000 - 150,000 VND/kg.
Compared to yesterday's trading price, the regions currently list prices as follows:
The same mark of 147,000 VND/kg was set by Dong Nai and Gia Lai provinces. This is also the lowest price in the country at the end of the week.
Meanwhile, Ho Chi Minh City is at 149,000 VND/kg. Dak Lak and Lam Dong are trading at 150,000 VND/kg.
World pepper prices: Developments in the same direction
In the world market, pepper prices remain unchanged in the regions. The Indonesian exchange - one of the most vibrant markets maintains its sideways momentum. Currently, these two items are traded between 7,01 - 10,062 USD/ton (equivalent to 187,872 VND/kg - 266,211 VND/kg).
On the other hand, the Brazilian market maintained its direction when it increased sharply by 1.52%, currently trading at 6,600 USD/ton (about 174,617 VND/kg). In the same direction, Malaysia's black and white pepper prices remained in the high price range, reaching 12,900 USD/ton and 9,700 USD/ton.
In the pepper export market of Vietnam, the price of black pepper of 500 g/l and 550 g/l is stable, anchored at 6,600 - 6,800 USD/ton. ASTA white pepper prices remain high, currently standing at 9,250 USD/ton (equivalent to 244,728 VND/kg).
