Assessments and forecasts
The reason for the sharp drop in pepper prices is said to be due to additional supply from the new harvest and the impact of the escalating conflict in the Middle East.

Accordingly, Vietnam exported 35,579 tons of pepper in the first two months of the year with a value of 231.23 million USD, an increase of 30.45% in volume and 25.36% in turnover compared to the same period in 2025.
However, in February 2026 alone, Vietnam's pepper exports slowed down, when they decreased by 35.8% in volume (reaching 13,911 tons) and decreased by 33.995 in value (reaching 91.94 million USD) compared to January 2026.
