Domestic pepper prices: Stand still
As of 11:30 AM today (May 19), domestic pepper prices maintained a low price range, averaging 140,800 VND/kg. Currently, key areas are trading in the range of 139,000 - 142,000 VND/kg.
Domestic pepper prices remain unchanged after the deepest decrease of 3,000 VND/kg, currently the listed prices in the regions are as follows:
Gia Lai province traded at the 13,900,000 VND/kg mark.
Dong Nai and Binh Phuoc listed prices of 141,000 VND/kg and 140,000 VND/kg respectively.
Meanwhile, Dak Lak and Lam Dong offered for sale at the highest purchase price of 142,000 VND/kg.
World pepper prices: Stable
In the world market, pepper prices are stable in countries. The two items of black and white pepper in Indonesia are no exception, trading in the range of 7,050 - 9,244 USD/ton (equivalent to 186,029 VND/kg - 243,922 VND/kg).
The Brazilian market maintained an increase of 100 USD/ton, listed at 6,250 USD/ton (about 164,919 VND/kg). Notably, black and white peppers in the same direction maintained an increase of 50 USD/ton, trading at 12,250 USD/ton and 9,350 USD/ton.
In Vietnam's pepper export market, the price of black pepper of 500 g/l and 550 g/l remains at 6,100 - 6,200 USD/ton. In the same direction, ASTA white pepper is offered for sale at 9,000 USD/ton (equivalent to 237,483 VND/kg).

Assessments and forecasts
In general, in the first 4 months of 2026, Vietnam's pepper exports reached 96.8 thousand tons, worth approximately 623 million USD, an increase of 31.6% in volume and 22.6% in value compared to the same period in 2025.
The average export price of Vietnamese pepper in April 2026 was at 6,265 USD/ton, down 4.1% compared to March 2026 and down 10.2% compared to April 2025. In general, in the first 4 months of 2025, the average export price of Vietnamese pepper was at 6,434 USD/ton, down 6.8% compared to the same period in 2025.
Vietnam's pepper exports continued the upward trend in April 2026, in which exports to some markets increased compared to April 2025 such as: USA, Thailand, Egypt, Netherlands,... However, pepper exports to some markets decreased such as: Germany, India, UK.
In the short term, the domestic pepper market may continue to fluctuate in a tug-of-war trend as sellers increase the amount of goods offered to the market, while export businesses are more cautious in the face of world price and exchange rate fluctuations.
