Assessment and forecast
According to initial data from the Vietnam Pepper and Spices Association (VPSA), in just the first 14 days of April 2025, Vietnam exported 10,413 tons of pepper, earning a turnover of up to 72 million USD. Leading the export race are three enterprises such as: Olam with 1,467 tons, Phuc Sinh with 1,177 tons and Nedspice with 750 tons.
In the opposite direction, at the same time, Vietnam also imported 1,846 tons of pepper with a total value of 12.2 million USD. The import market is mainly from Brazil and Cambodia, two countries that account for 81.2% of total imports. Of which, Brazil reached 758 tons and Cambodia reached 740 tons.
The situation of pepper prices anchored at high prices is believed to be due to strong consumption demand both domestically and internationally. Accordingly, demand from major and traditional markets of Vietnam is remaining high, becoming the main driving force for domestic pepper prices. According to industry associations, in the first half of April 2025 alone, many Vietnamese enterprises signed a series of export contracts at attractive prices, contributing to pushing domestic pepper prices to a new level.
