Assessments and forecasts
On the international front, a report from the International Pepper Corporation (IPC) shows contrasting colors in the 3rd week of April. In Indonesia, the green color continued to be maintained thanks to the push from the scarcity of black pepper supply. Notably in the Indian market, despite pressure from the Rupee depreciating by 1% against the USD, pepper prices in this country still reversed the impressive growth flow, reflecting extremely persistent domestic purchasing power.
Meanwhile, the synergy between the global consumption demand that is recovering positively and the expectations of speculators, helps Vietnamese pepper maintain its position even though export prices are still in a waiting state.
