Domestic pepper prices: Continue to increase
As of 12:30 today (8.22), the domestic pepper market continued to increase in price, averaging 144,300 VND/kg. Currently, the price still fluctuates between 142,500 - 146,000 VND/kg.
Purchasing pepper at the lowest price is Gia Lai, reaching 142,500 VND/kg, an increase of 500 VND/kg.
Gia Lai province pushed the price to 1,000 VND/kg, announcing the pepper price at 142,000 VND/kg.
Ho Chi Minh City and Dong Nai both set the mark of 144,000 VND/kg. However, the increase range is different, increasing by 1,000 VND/kg and 3,000 VND/kg respectively.
Notably, Lam Dong with the highest increase of VND 3,000/kg at VND 146,000/kg has risen to the top of the provinces with the highest pepper purchasing prices in the country. Meanwhile, Dak Lak only increased by VND 1,000/kg, remaining at VND 145,000/kg.
World pepper prices: Strong fluctuations in most regions
In the world market, pepper prices have fluctuated in many areas. In particular, the Indonesian exchange - one of the most vibrant markets, has increased and decreased alternately. Currently, these two items are traded between 7,154 - 10,001 USD/ton (equivalent to 190,025 VND/kg - 265,647 VND/kg), up 0.04% and 0.05% respectively.
On the other hand, the Brazilian market remained unchanged, trading at $6,000/ton (about 159,372 VND/kg). Malaysia's black and white stocks both anchored high, increasing by 0.78 - 2.08%, reaching 12,800 USD/ton and 9,600 USD/ton.
In the pepper export market of Vietnam, the price of black pepper of 500 g/l and 550 g/l remains the same, anchored at 6,240 - 6,370 USD/ton. ASTA white pepper prices remained at 8,950 USD/ton (equivalent to 237,730 VND/kg).
