Domestic pepper prices: Stable in the whole region
As of 11:30 today (October 25), the domestic pepper market has been stable after a sharp decrease, averaging 142,400 VND/kg. Currently, the price ranges from 142,000 - 143,000 VND/kg.
The three provinces of Gia Lai, Ho Chi Minh City, and Dong Nai today all listed 142,000 VND/kg. This is the lowest price in the region.
Lam Dong and Dak Lak recorded prices 1,000 VND/kg higher than the remaining areas, setting the price of 143,000 VND/kg.
Compared to the beginning of October, the average domestic pepper price is at 146,700 VND/kg, 4,300 VND/kg higher than the current average price. Although there are times when pepper prices fluctuate, in general, the bearish trend continues in the first quarter of 2025.
World pepper prices: Developments in the same direction
In the world market, pepper prices are mostly stable at the end of the week. In particular, the Indonesian exchange - one of the most vibrant markets - maintained a price decline of 0.01% and 0.03%. Currently, these two items are traded between 7,229 - 10,085 USD/ton (equivalent to 190,499 VND/kg - 265,760 VND/kg).
On the other hand, the Brazilian market is flat, currently holding at 6,100 USD/ton (about 160,748 VND/kg). In the same direction, black and white pepper were stable, trading at 12,500 USD/ton and 9,500 USD/ton, respectively.
In the pepper export market of Vietnam, the price of black pepper of 500 g/l and 550 g/l is flat, anchored at 6,400 - 6,600 USD/ton. ASTA white pepper prices remain high, currently standing at 9,050 USD/ton (equivalent to 238,486 VND/kg).

Assessment and forecast
According to the Vietnam Customs Department, Vietnam's pepper exports in the first 15 days of October 2025 reached 9,481 tons, worth 63.06 million USD, down slightly by 2.5% in volume and 1% in value compared to the first half of September, but increased quite strongly by 11.8% in volume and 14.4% in value compared to the same period last year.
Accumulated from year to year on October 15, our country's pepper exports reached 195,950 tons, worth 1.32 billion USD, down 6.4% in volume but up to 27.1% in value compared to the same period last year.
Thus, as of mid-October, the export turnover of the whole industry has surpassed the 1.31 billion USD mark for the whole year of 2024.
The Vietnam Pepper and Spices Association (VPSA) believes that the trend of increasing pepper prices in the world market along with the recovery of demand in key markets will continue to support exports in the last months of the year.
