Domestic pepper prices
Today (August 27), domestic pepper prices remain unchanged, trading in the range of 136,500 - 138,500 VND/kg.
At the end of the recent trading session, Gia Lai and Ho Chi Minh City both anchored at the threshold of 136,500 VND/kg.
Meanwhile, Dak Lak and Dong Nai respectively maintained prices of 138,000 VND/kg and 136,000 VND/kg.
Lam Dong province is currently offering to the market at the highest price of 138,500 VND/kg.
World pepper price
In the world market, pepper prices adjusted in some countries. Indonesia's black and white peppers suddenly increased in price, trading in the range of 6,897 - 9,443 USD/ton (equivalent to 181,185 VND/kg - 248,068 VND/kg), increasing by 24 USD/ton and 33 USD/ton respectively.
Meanwhile, the price of black pepper in Brazil sold to the market is 5,800 USD/ton, down 100 USD/ton (about 152.366 VND/kg). However, black and white pepper in Malaysia still maintain the same price range, trading at high prices, respectively 12,200 USD/ton and 9,300 USD/ton.
Notably, in Vietnam's pepper export market, black pepper prices of 500 g/l and 550 g/l are traded at 5,990 - 6,050 USD/ton. ASTA white pepper is offered for sale at 8,400 USD/ton (equivalent to 220,668 VND/kg).
Assessments and forecasts
In general, in the first 7 months of 2026, Vietnam's pepper exports reached 168.8 thousand tons, worth 1.1 billion USD, an increase of 16.7% in volume and 11.1% in value compared to the same period in 2025.
The average export price of Vietnamese pepper in July 2026 reached 6,543 USD/ton, down 1.7% compared to June 2026 and down 1.2% compared to July 2025. In general, in the first 7 months of 2026, the average export price reached 6,513 USD/ton, down 4.8% compared to the same period in 2025.
Regarding the market, in July 2026, Vietnam's pepper exports increased and decreased in opposite directions between markets. Compared to June 2026, exports to many markets decreased such as the United States, Germany, India, Netherlands, Turkey and the United Arab Emirates. In the opposite direction, exports to the markets of Thailand, Netherlands, Philippines and the United Kingdom increased compared to June 2026.
