Pepper prices today, August 26: Domestic pepper market slightly increased, while international exchanges remained unchanged.

Domestic pepper prices

Today (August 26), domestic pepper prices increased slightly by 100 VND/kg, trading in the range of 136,500 - 138,500 VND/kg.

At the end of the recent trading session, Gia Lai and Ho Chi Minh City both anchored at the threshold of 136,500 VND/kg, an additional increase of 500 VND/kg.

Meanwhile, Dak Lak and Dong Nai respectively maintained prices of 138,000 VND/kg and 136,000 VND/kg.

Lam Dong province is currently offering to the market at the highest price of 138,500 VND/kg.

World pepper price

In the world market, pepper prices continue to be sluggish in all countries. Indonesia's black and white peppers are no exception, trading in the range of 6,873 - 9,410 USD/ton (equivalent to 180,760 VND/kg - 247,483 VND/kg).

Similarly, the price of Brazilian black pepper sold to the market is 5,900 USD/ton (about 155,170 VND/kg). However, black and white Malaysian pepper still maintain the same price range, trading at high prices, respectively 12,200 USD/ton and 9,300 USD/ton.

Notably, in Vietnam's pepper export market, black pepper prices of 500 g/l and 550 g/l are traded at 5,990 - 6,050 USD/ton. ASTA white pepper is offered for sale at 8,400 USD/ton (equivalent to 220,920 VND/kg).

Assessments and forecasts

According to preliminary data from the Customs Department, in the first period of August 2026 (from May 1 to 15), the total value of Vietnam's goods exports reached 25.41 billion USD, raising the total cumulative export turnover from the beginning of the year to the end of August 15 to 345.42 billion USD.

Notably, pepper reached 10,553 tons, worth 68.64 million USD in the period, bringing the cumulative export volume to 179,344 tons, worth 1.17 billion USD.

In general, in the first 7 months of 2026, Vietnam's pepper exports reached 168.8 thousand tons, worth 1.1 billion USD, an increase of 16.7% in volume and 11.1% in value compared to the same period in 2025.
