Pepper prices today 28.8: Domestic pepper markets simultaneously decreased in price, while international exchanges remained unchanged.

Domestic pepper prices

Today (August 28), domestic pepper prices simultaneously decreased, trading in the range of 135,000 - 137,000 VND/kg.

At the end of the recent trading session, Gia Lai, Ho Chi Minh City and Dong Nai all anchored at the threshold of 135,000 VND/kg, down 1,500 VND/kg.

On the same afternoon, Dak Lak announced the price of 135,000 VND/kg, down 1,000 VND/kg.

Lam Dong province is currently offering to the market at the highest price of 137,000 VND/kg, down 1,500 VND/kg.

World pepper price

In the world market, pepper prices are stable in all countries. Indonesia's black and white peppers maintain an upward trend, trading in the range of 6,897 - 9,443 USD/ton (equivalent to 181,185 VND/kg - 248,068 VND/kg).

Meanwhile, the price of Brazilian black pepper sold to the market is 5,800 USD/ton (about 152,366 VND/kg). However, black and white Malaysian pepper still maintain the same price range, trading at high prices, respectively 12,200 USD/ton and 9,300 USD/ton.

Notably, in Vietnam's pepper export market, black pepper prices of 500 g/l and 550 g/l are traded at 5,990 - 6,050 USD/ton. ASTA white pepper is offered for sale at 8,400 USD/ton (equivalent to 220,668 VND/kg).

Assessments and forecasts

Domestic pepper prices unexpectedly slipped after maintaining accumulation status, bringing the price range below the threshold of 140,000 VND/kg.

The biggest bright spot of Vietnam's pepper industry in 2026 is the breakthrough in market share in the US market. Data from the US International Trade Commission shows that in the first half of 2026, this country imported a total of 47.6 thousand tons of pepper, worth 359.8 million USD.

In which, Vietnam continues to maintain its position as the most outstanding supplier when exporting to this market reached 38.2 thousand tons, worth about 290.2 million USD. Compared to the same period last year, Vietnam's pepper exports to the US increased sharply by 24.4% and turnover increased by 22.7%.
